Our client is seeking a Studio Engineer to help support the hardware and software for our client's studio, post-production, and delivery pipelines with a focus on providing on-the-spot support for the live studio.

Key Qualifications:



  • 5+ years providing technical support and troubleshooting of live and post-production audio and video signal flows, workflows, protocols, and codecs in a live, live-to-tape or post production environment
  • Experience supporting modern production asset management (PAM/MAM) systems
  • Experience with support for large-scale SAN environments for high-throughput media workflows
  • Experience supporting & troubleshooting Ethernet, Brocade Fibre Channel, and DLC networking infrastructures to ensure seamless SAN connectivity and data integrity
  • "Can-do" attitude that thrives on collaboration and problem-solving in high-demand and fast-paced environments
  • Open to a flexible work schedule with possible weekends and off-hours work as required
  • Self-starter who can manage their own tasks and projects with little oversight from leadership


Description:



  • Engineer will be responsible for the on-demand support of the production and post-production teams.
  • This includes work with cinema cameras and lenses; video and audio signal path; camera robotics; production lights and their control systems; advanced production asset management (PAM) pipeline automation; fibre-channel SAN storage & networking infrastructure; and various software applications running across macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
  • The individual will be expected to effectively manage their time enabling the delivery of projects and tasks with relatively little delay.
  • The position requires regular coordination with third party vendors for studio upgrades and equipment repair.
  • Success in this role requires the ability to handle and properly prioritize out-of-band requests to ensure the smooth operation of the studio and its production pipeline.
  • Experience in a technical support role for live, live-to-tape or post-production support position is essential.
  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Education & Experience:



  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred. Equivalent or relevant field experience acceptable.
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of studio broadcast equipment and infrastructure including switchers, cameras, routers, live audio consoles, wireless microphones, lighting, lighting consoles, communications systems, fiber-backs, displays, single and multi-mode fiber, ethernet and SMPTE311 connections required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in administration and troubleshooting of macOS, Linux, and Windows required.
  • Demonstrated ability to support high-performance SAN storage for media production pipelines highly preferred.
  • High-degree of familiarity and understanding of structured content-related & status metadata for the purpose of workflow automation and content related metadata management & delivery preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency creating and modifying technical drawings (AutoCAD highly preferred).
  • Ability to construct and install various video, audio, ethernet, fibre and control cabling preferred.
