Job Summary and Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to develop and execute public relations strategies to build brand and solution awareness and industry thought leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
- In partnership with public relations agencies, own daytoday media relations: develop narratives, build reporter relationships, manage inbound requests, staff interviews, and serve as onbackground or onrecord spokesperson as appropriate.
- Work with public relations agencies to plan and execute proactive pitching tied to company milestones, product/solution updates, customer outcomes, and policy/industry trends relevant to Acentra Health's lines of business.
- Maintain press materials (boilerplate, fact sheets, executive bios, media kit) and an annual editorial calendar.
- Secure speaking opportunities, awards, and bylines for executives and subject matter experts at priority venues and outlets.
- Write and edit highimpact external content (press releases, opeds, bylines, blogs, case studies, web copy, video scripts) that translates clinical and technical work into clear, outcomesfocused stories.
- Partner with marketing, product, operations, sales, and strategy teams to align public relations activities with integrated campaigns, demand generation, and key pursuits.
- Lead crisis preparedness: risk mapping, escalation paths, holding statements, media frequently asked questions, and executive talking points.
- Manage realtime response, monitoring, and postincident debriefs.
- Integrate earned, owned, and shared digital channels to amplify coverage and executive visibility.
- Produce monthly and quarterly activity reports with insights and nextstep recommendations.
- Manage public relations agency(ies), wire services, and mediamonitoring/database tools; own related budgets and SOWs.
- Collaborate with the internal communications team on activities with external implications (M&A, major hires, partnerships).
- Ensure full understanding of Acentra Health offerings and solutions to develop clear, persuasive, and articulate messaging and content across a variety of media and formats. Research clinical, technical, or business topics as necessary to ensure complete and accurate content.
- Produce high-quality, error-free, short- and long-form content.
- Follow efficient processes for the review and approval of content. Ensure compliance with claims, disclosures, industry/regulatory reviews as needed, etc.
- Ensure adherence to brand and writing style/usage guidelines and product and unit naming conventions.
- Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Public Relations, Communications, English, Marketing, or similar) and at least 5 years of experience in public relations and/or communications for a healthcare or insurance organization, or 8 years relevant work experience
- Excellent writing skills as evidenced by writing samples submitted with application
- Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint; Tungsten/Kofax; etc.)
- Demonstrated success placing stories in national, policy, health tech, and state/regional media.
- Experience managing sensitive and high-risk issues.

- Ability to develop long-term plans and translate business objectives into effective external communications/public relations strategies
- Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to bring to life complex concepts and data in a way that is meaningful and easy to understand
- Demonstrated success building campaigns that drive earned media
- Excellent editing and self-editing skills; meticulous about clarity, structure, and grammar
- Excellent project management, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and build consensus, as well as align and communicate with executives, supervisors, and team members
- Experience with publicly funded healthcare programs
- Understanding of IT- and healthcare-focused business, management, and clinical concepts

Pay Range
USD $116,400.00 - USD $145,500.00 /Yr.
