The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Tool Designerto work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of this Tool Designer include, but are not limited to:



  • Prepare tool, gage, and process enhancement designs using Pro/ENGINEER software
  • Perform calculations to determine exact dimensions, correlating specifications and engineering data
  • Ability to make drawings for both production and vendors
  • Interface with continuous improvement, engineering, process engineering, and manufacturing daily
  • Interface with vendors for procurement of purchased items

  • Sidney, NY
  • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
  • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY


Salary: $45,000 - $70,000

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • Associate's in mechanical engineer or related field/experience
  • Experience in a machine shop, tool-design/application position, or related area preferred
  • Experience with project management preferred
  • Working knowledge of Pro/ENGINEER software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple requests and projects concurrently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Working with and on the manufacturing floor frequently
  • Some travel to tooling vendors or Nogales possible (minimal, 10%)
