| Job Duties |
East Carolina University is seeking to fill a fellowship position within the Sports Nutrition Department. This is a eleven-month paid position that will have the opportunity to manage their own teams while learning from the Director of Sports Nutrition. This position will include clinical, food service and education services provided to student-athletes to optimize health and performance.
- Actively participate as a member of the East Carolina University Sports Nutrition Staff.
- Maintain fueling station areas with shared weight rooms and individual team spaces.
- Develop effective performance nutrition education presentations and handout materials.
- Maintain ongoing communications with coaching staff, strength & conditioning staff, athletic trainers, and administration regarding nutritional issues affecting student athletes.
- Supervise and train student volunteers.
- Perform duties with professional conduct, confidentiality, fiscal responsibility and a commitment to student-athlete well-being.
- Abide by all written policies, procedures and guidelines of East Carolina University, the Department of Athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (
NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
- Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with athletics, Pirate Club and University staff, students, and all constituencies and stakeholders.
This position may work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the particular demands of various sports. |
| Minimum Education/Experience |
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition dietetics or public health nutrition; or completion of an
ADA Dietetic internship with
ADA Commission; Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred. |
