DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the comprehensive support and management of departmental training content within the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring regulatory compliance, support for field operations, coordination with internal and external audits, data reporting and analytics, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will demonstrate a balance of technical expertise, business insight, and interpersonal skills necessary to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Content Administration:Manage, maintain, and validate training content within the LMS, including web-based training, instructor guides, student handbooks, exams, and course evaluations.
  • Field Operations Support:Provide support for field operations through prompt determinations and sound decisions regarding certification and training requirements.
  • Certification Oversight:Monitor and oversee employee certifications and qualifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Coordinate with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with FRA regulatory standards, implementing necessary adjustments to training content and processes.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and line of business managers to maintain and update training content.
  • Project Management:Participate in department initiatives and special projects as assigned by the department manager.
  • Documentation:Develop clear and concise documentation, including processes, procedures, and rationales, supporting training and compliance activities.

The successful candidate will be evaluated on their knowledge and abilities, with emphasis on the following areas:

Business Knowledge:

  • Understanding of LMS processes and training strategies.
  • Knowledge of systemic interactions between business groups and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintains a specialized expertise in FRA certification procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Provides exceptional internal and external customer service for a 24x7 operation, responding professionally to inquiries via oral and written communications.
  • Handles confidential employee information, including driving records and employee assistance program (EAP) referrals, with discretion and adherence to company policies.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in learning new software, platforms, and technologies.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP, Learning Management Systems and instructional material maintenance.
  • Data management and analytics skills.

Problem Solving:

  • Successful collaboration within teams of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to identify and escalate project issues appropriately.
  • Comfort with technical concepts and coordinating with technical teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in training or administrative tasks.
  • Fundamental project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service experience and teamwork capability.
  • Detail-oriented multitasker capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of the railroad industry.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
