What this job involves: As an HVAC Mechanic with JLL, you'll play a critical role in maintaining comfortable and efficient environments across our diverse portfolio of commercial properties. Working under the Service Contract Act guidelines, you'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems - from installation to repair and maintenance. Your expertise in refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and system diagnostics will ensure optimal performance of environmental control systems in office buildings, retail spaces, and other commercial establishments. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge HVAC technology while supporting JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services that enhance occupant comfort and operational efficiency. What your day-to-day will look like: * Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and ductwork using hand tools and welding equipment * Fabricate and assemble system components following blueprints and engineering specifications for optimal system performance * Connect electrical components including motors, compressors, temperature controls, and circulating fans to control panels and power sources * Test system operations using pressure and vacuum gauges, inject refrigerants, and adjust controls to ensure proper functionality * Diagnose and repair system issues by replacing defective components such as breaker controls, thermostats, switches, and electrical wiring * Install air and water filters, wrap pipes with insulation, and perform leak testing using gauges and soap-and-water solutions * Service air conditioning units ranging from 15-20 tons cooling capacity in warehouses and industrial facilities Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent with minimum two years of HVAC repair and maintenance experience * Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation for multi-site assignments * Journeyman HVAC Mechanic License (Duval County) demonstrating professional competency * Universal EPA Certification (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F) for refrigerant handling * Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized HVAC equipment including welding tools * Strong knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and electrical systems related to HVAC operations * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications Preferred Qualifications: * Additional HVAC certifications or specialized training in commercial systems * Experience with building automation systems and computerized HVAC controls * Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and green building practices * Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance or property management * Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order management systems Location: Onsite Location: On-site -Jacksonville, FLIf this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet all the requirements.
