DESCRIPTION

Under supervision: This position functions as the lead maintenance B and provides day-to-day oversight in the areas of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or AC&R. Assigning, coordinating & scheduling day-to-day work for shop to include preventative maintenance and repairs. Act as a liaison between the shop personnel, and the supervisor, customers, EH&S, Facilities Planning & Management, FE Director, outside contractors, and tradesmen.

Maintains labor and material records, Issues purchase orders and prepares estimates as required. Communicates work order revisions, delays, or other problems to Supervisor or Director. Responsible for performing skilled journeyman tasks in all phases of their trade. May inspect and coordinate work of outside contractors. Participates in budget preparation and review. Assist supervisor with regulatory compliance, tracking and documentation. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/ procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • One (1) year of experience as an operational level craft worker in one of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, sheet metal or cabinet making work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Healthcare environment experience.
  • Experience as a System Operator.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $112,000 - $112,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.64 - $53.64

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
