| Job Description |
The purpose of the Financial Aid Specialist position is to manage the accurate and compliant processing of financial aid applications while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations. This is accomplished by interpreting and applying relevant policies, reviewing and correcting
FAFSA applications, awarding aid, verifying loan eligibility, and collaborating with other departments to support student success. The role also requires ongoing education on financial aid regulations and system enhancements, regular review of procedures and resources, and cross-departmental coordination to promote successful registration and retention.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement. |

Minimum of two years of experience in finance, banking, or a related quantitative field such as mathematics

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree
NASFAA credentialing- Knowledge of database programs and experience working with large databases
- Experience working with Student Information System & CRM - Banner & Slate preferred
- Experience working with technical and non-technical staff at all organization levels
- Experience with industry resources such as FSA Partner Connect, NASFAA
