Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are excited to be recruiting an Assistant to the Chair in the Department of Medicine, the largest of MSK's clinical departments, comprised of 4 divisions and nearly 500 faculty.

The Chair is a senior leader who partners with executives across the department and hospital to achieve the Department's priorities. You will partner with the Lead Assistant to Chair to provide administrative support for our senior leaders, including administrative support to the Vice Chairs.

Role Overview:

  • Calendar Management & Scheduling: Handle extensive calendar and travel management; meeting planning and coordination; as well as screening and responding to requests. Assist with meeting preparation and logistics planning.

  • Office Operations: Perform administrative duties to maintain the office's smooth operation as well as support departmental leadership. Manage complex inquiries and fulfill requests quickly & efficiently.

  • Project Management: Work closely with the Senior Director & Lead Assistant to Chair to coordinate current initiatives and foster the growth of new ones. Assist with projects as necessary, ensuring seamless workflow and communication within the office.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of experience in an administrative role supporting senior leadership, such as Senior Administrative Assistant

  • Experience working in an academic office setting is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement in project management responsibilities.

Core Skills:

  • Effective Communication: capable of communicating on behalf of the Chair and senior leadership in the office.

  • Excellent Judgment: able to resolve problems and handle time-sensitive issues effectively.

  • Technical Proficiency: comfortable using various software for communication and presentations, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Adaptability & Flexibility: able to adapt to changing needs, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and adjust to the fast-paced nature of the role.

Additional Information:

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue

  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm (hybrid schedule, 3-4 days onsite)

Reporting to the Lead Assistant to Chair.

Pay Range: $75,500.00 - $116,900.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
