Horseshoe Bay Resort is seeking an experienced IT professional to join our team! Definition: The Assistant Director of IT supports the Director of IT in overseeing all technology operations, infrastructure, and systems across the Resort. This role serves as the second-in-command of the IT department, providing day-to-day operational oversight, managing internal IT staff, and ensuring secure, stable, high-availability IT services for all Resort departments, members, guests, and corporate stakeholders. The Assistant Director is responsible for critical infrastructure-including servers, networks, Active Directory, phone systems, cloud services, enterprise applications, and guest-facing technologies-and ensures full compliance with the Resort's Security Policy, Business Continuity Plan, and industry security/privacy requirements (PCI, data privacy regulations, cyber standards). General Duties:
ssist the Director of IT in executing the Resort's strategic technology plan and long-term IT roadmap. * Oversee day-to-day operations of the Resort's IT systems, service desk, managed service provider relationships, and internal team workflows. * Prioritize and assign tickets, tasks, and projects, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to Resort IT standards, SLAs, and security policies. * Maintain a stable, secure, and high-performance IT environment, including servers, networking, firewalls, wireless, endpoints, and business-critical systems. Team Management Directly supervise four IT team members, including scheduling, workload management, coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, and professional development. * Maintain departmental accountability, productivity, and morale through structured processes and clear expectations. * Provide backup support for all IT Manager and Level II Technician functions and ensure cross-training across all operational domains
Employment Standards:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from accredited 4 year University is required.
- Experience in Information Technology related fields; preferably within the hospitality/resort industry.
- Advanced experience with Cloud Computing (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS), extensive experience with SQL and other database languages, Microsoft Server 2012/2016, Windows 10, Advanced End Point & Threat Protection, Cyber Security platforms, ITMS platforms to support third-party application patch management, imaging solutions, disaster recovery, advanced Active Directory and networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Experience in a management role over technology staff and projects.
- Experience building and/or maintaining scalable networks and demonstrated proficiency in securing network and data.
- Experience with cyber security best practices and PCI and other data/privacy compliance standards.
- Possess outstanding project and issue management experience.
- Possess superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders with a focus on transforming resort IT into a highly responsive and trusted department.
