Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Senior Engineer to support design and consulting for hydroelectrical power plants in Portland, Oregon. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely. This position requires three days in the office/week. Salary: $105,000-$150,000/year (based on experience) Who You Are An EIT or PE with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience. Relationship-focused: Experience developing long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering challenges. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work directly with our senior leaders and will perform meaningful work that focuses on providing practical solutions to complex problems affecting energy, water, and the environment. The successful candidate will also possess strong oral and written communication skills, must be self-motivated and growth oriented. Knowledgeable: The successful candidate will have a base in hydroelectric design experience but preferably with wide area multi-plant SCADA systems, condition monitoring, or Battery Energy Storage System design experience as well. About the Position Kleinschmidt electrical engineers design hydropower plant modernizations, fish passage automation, and GSU substations. Our Electrical engineers are supporting clients by writing procurement specifications, performing design reviews, attending commissioning and onsite construction support. Our engineers are also performing power system analysis such as short circuit calculations, power flow analysis, overcurrent device coordination and arc flash incident energy analysis.
