Launch Industrial Engineering Manager

The General Assembly Launch IE Manager is responsible for leading a team of Launch IEs and Workstation Designers to develop scroll and scope of work for new programs to meet the KPIs established for each new program.

Lead a cross functional team in the development of operator man assignments and station layouts/station designs, working closely with TLs, Launch Team, Plant IEs, Quality, Logistics, Product Engineering, Safety/Ergonomics, and all other key stakeholders to assure new programs' objectives are met at a station and plant level.

Build relationships with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing key stakeholders to comprehend the new product requirements and sequence of build. Develop work assignments based on a predetermined time standards. Conduct studies in operations to optimize Operator Efficiency and Engineering Standard Times (EST). Plan and oversee effective layout of facility, equipment, tooling, torque tools, ICT interface, etc, by collaborating with the Conveyor, Facility, Tooling, Torque Tool, WPI, and Plant Teams.

Perform cycle time and bottleneck analysis. Develop and improve work methods. Work with functional managers and operation managers to improve safety/ergonomics, quality, throughput, productivity, operator efficiency, and operator satisfaction.

Candidate needs to be self-motivated, goal driven, and possesses good presentation skills. Candidate needs to be familiar with WPI (Work Place Integration) - an effective launch process.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field
  • Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of Industrial Engineering experience
  • Excellent communication, computer and problem solving skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and skills to work as part of a team and interface with all levels of management and hourly workforce
  • Self-motivated and goal driven
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience / Knowledge with WPI (Work Place Integration) - an effective launch process


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree
  • Industrial Engineering experience implementing General Assembly direct labor line balancing in a high volume manufacturing environment using a standard time methodology
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of AMPs, MODAPTs and TeamCenter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
