Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • Formal and technical writing ability, and effective oral communication. (Required)
  • Familiarity with aerospace design and test methods, component de-rating and appropriate selection based on project requirements. (Required)
  • Familiarity with requirements flow down, and spacecraft systems resource budgets (Required)
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, CAMWorks or equivalent 3D mechanical design tools. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Required)
  • Attention to detail and ability to translate scientific project requirements into robust engineering solutions. (Required)
  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with guidance/supervision. (Required)
  • Interpersonal skill to work and communicate effectively with others. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of Thermal Desktop software. (Preferred)
  • Experience with manual mill/lathe and CNC machining,thermal vacuum operation and troubleshooting, and spacecraft integration and testing (Preferred)
  • Willingness to learn new techniques on-the-fly and be resourceful in solving interdisciplinary engineering challenges. (Required)
  • Knowledge of NASA Practices and Standards for flight hardware. (Preferred)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, and or equivalent experience / training. (Required)

  • Special Conditions for Employment
