Overview

The Service Director is responsible for leading a team through providing high-level consultative, infrastructure-related services to clients within the environment, normally on a regional or national scale. This position overseas and identifies marketable services and delivers those services for clients on a billable basis through partnering with management to identify and market other services to client bases and providing a transition of information and responsibility to the end user.



Responsibilities

    Researches and evaluates client system and storage infrastructure and architecture; draws conclusions; and develops recommendations in accordance with engagement objectives
  • Identifies and resolves project issues with clients
  • Supports sales team with proposal responses, SOW preparation, pre sales efforts
  • Ensures installation/implementation of server, storage and software solutions
  • Implements solutions and manages large-scale, mission-critical storage environments
  • Delivers briefings, status reports, presentations, and milestone deliverables to clients and prospects
  • Promotes and practices teamwork within and with client project personnel
  • Imposes the highest practical level of quality in all assignments
  • Identifies, and communicates to the client, the value inherent in work being performed and the importance of each deliverable
  • Identifies client prospects, and engagement opportunities within those projects
  • Works with Sales personnel, the Practice Managers, and Management to pursue opportunities
  • Writes proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, to respond to RFPs and other marketing situations
  • Works with the Practice Managers and Management to develop and/or adopt specific techniques for addressing client needs in an assigned area
  • Cultivates strong client relationships, which lead to further work with existing clients
  • Maintains a current understanding of relevant technical issues through self-training, reading, hands-on experience, coursework, and attendance at briefings and conferences for the highest level of intellectual understanding of Best Practices
  • Maintains relationships with vendor personnel at appropriate levels as a resource for obtaining correct and current information about products, strategies, and approaches
  • Cultivates relationships with partners, suppliers in order to develop and share understanding of technology roadmaps within C1S
  • Converts detailed understanding of products and services into C1 Solution's, which are valuable to clients, in a specified area of IBM's Power technology


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of Data Center and implementation experience
  • Minimum 5 years previous supervisory experience
  • Certified with IBMs technology (Power7, AIX, PowerHA, TSM)
  • At least 5 years of experience with AIX
  • At least 3 years of experience with PowerVM
  • At least 3 years of experience with VMware or a competitive virtualization software solution
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks and IBM branded storage (V7000, SVC, XIV, DS8K, DS5K)
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) utilizing ISCSI
  • Detail oriented and willing to work as part of a team
  • Customer service oriented to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Strong troubleshooting, research and communications skills
  • Ability to multitask on multiple clients' needs

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with different SAN hardware preferred
  • Experience with Backup Solutions & Server hardware preferred

Pay Range

$133,000 - $165,000

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
