Job Description

Are you passionate about leveraging technology to ensure the integrity of our rating systems are operating as intended? Join our team as a Business Applications Analyst, where you'll play a critical role in assisting with delivering technical data support in the development and implementation of Underwriting packaged software solutions that drive quality and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for an existing application area, including data definitions, usage and file structure, technical structure of the code and the business rules, and structure of requirements that govern the functionality of the system.

  • Assist in the development of Packaged Software modification requirements and Interface Design Specifications.

  • Establish and maintain simple to moderate/complex Packaged Software file configuration.

  • Perform all necessary discovery and fact finding to fully understand and execute all assignments, mostly simple and moderate with a few complex ones.

  • Plan and serve as a key liaison with business areas during development and implementation of functional requirements and development of system validation tools to ensure accuracy of data.

  • Identify best practices, communicate and implement these practices within the department and/or across divisions.

  • With support analyze application and system problems and incidents; develop recommendations and solutions for those problems, implement those solutions, and provide communications on the associated actions, business impacts, and results. Complete project tasks within the allocated time and budget

  • Provide direction and assistance to junior staff members

  • Provide support to senior team members on at least one business project team and non-project related activities.

  • Provide detailed configuration expertise and consultative support to customers and business partners in order to ensure the development of efficient enterprise solutions provides appropriate communication method as needed.

  • Fulfillment Team: Perform key components of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC):

    • Assist in designing solutions that support business needs with emphasis on accuracy of data.

    • Code Development and Maintenance dependent upon the various systems.

    • Unit Testing - creating sample data sets to validate that the code is developed to perform as intended.

    • Documentation - writing system/technical specifications to ensure solution supports functional requirements as well as ensuring solutions support accuracy of data to ensure systems and data are operating as intended.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.

Bonus Points

  • 2+ years of SQL Analysis/Development experience

  • Utilizing technical skills to develop/implement systematic validation/audit tools to validate large sets of data

  • Experience working in Blue Quote, Facets, StepWise Rating tool to support all business segments

Salary Range
