Position Summary
This position will perform a variety of research and support tasks in a microbiology laboratory including equipment and laboratory maintenance, various record keeping functions, preparation of solutions and media, and data collection/processing.

Aseptic technique, competence with basic computer tasks including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Duties/Responsibilities


Duties/Responsibilities
This position will perform molecular biology techniques, including PCR, cloning, protein purification, and genetic modifications of bacterial pathogens. The employee will assist with data collection and analysis, including growth assays, biochemical analyses, and high-throughput sequencing. The employee will also interpret results and assist in the preparation and presentation of reports/manuscripts of research results.

Duties/Responsibilities
This position also supports the laboratory with general maintenance activities, development and validation of new procedures, as well as maintaining and updating existing procedures. The employee will be expected to prepare media and other reagents for general lab use and maintain a supply of clean, sterile, laboratory resources.
