Manages on-airport real estate portfolio including hubs and major sort locations. Negotiates Airport Use Agreements and Lease Agreements with Airport Authorities and third-party developers or landlords. Serves as FedEx's Airport Affairs representative at assigned airports, to other airlines and in industry associations. This position is the primary FedEx represent for airports and interacts with executives of Airports and high-level government and industry executives.

Essential Functions

  • Team member manages a portfolio of airports.

  • Directly negotiate principal business terms of leases (i.e., new leases for existing buildings or build-to-suit projects, or renewal of existing leases). Responsible for site/building selection and due diligence activities prior to leasing.

  • Leads lease or use agreement document negotiations through finalization and execution of agreement, partnering with Legal, Risk Management and Environmental Management.

  • Negotiate Use Agreements with airports.

  • Position has regular interaction with and advises VP Properties and Facilities and with other senior officers and FedEx Board members.

  • Conducts market analysis of available space and rents to create informed data driven strategies and decisions.

  • Reports on specific local and airport issues with potential impact to FedEx. Provides recommendation and manages response, often working alongside FedEx Legal - Regulatory Affairs and Government Affairs.

  • Evaluates data (e.g., airport master plans, airport layout plans, site information) and works to understand local airline/airport/political environment that may impact FedEx expansion plans or commence flight operations.

  • Monitors operational status and financial health of airports. Participates in and observes airport governance meetings.

  • Maintains active involvement in industry and professional associations and continuing education groups.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Business Administration or Aviation Management or related discipline and AAE or CM accreditation.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years related experience in commercial real estate. Special emphasis in airport properties or airport management, airport rate setting methodologies, negotiating airport use agreements and leases, and finance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent negotiation skills. Ability to work as an individual in a remote location. Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required.
