Summary
Performs both administrative and clinical functions for the Division of Psychiatry in Medicine. Practice Assistant will support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under general supervision. Performs basic clerical work and tasks that are repetitive and routine. Actual job duties may vary by Department. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office. -Manages all incoming calls/pages for consultation service -Pages physicians and updates patient lists for clinical service; works collaboratively with the administrative physician to maintain daily consultation service patient coverage as well as updating paging calendar, sending on call schedules. -Responsible for collecting data used for internal tracking, includes but is not limited to number of consult patients seen by service/type. -Open and distribute unit mail or faxes. -Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed. -Maintains good communication with and reports problems to the Administrative Manager -Participates in special projects as assigned by Administrative Manager maintains flexibility regarding workload and the needs of the service.
