If you are passionate about creating human-centric, disruptive Human AI experience, we would like to invite you to join us as part of the award-winning Lenovo Design + Innovation Team and work in Lenovo's North America Headquarter in Morrisville, NC, USA.

Being a critical component of the renowned Design + Innovation Team which takes in 65+ design awards globally every year, you will lead a young, diversified and talented experience design team to collaborate with other cross-disciplinary designers, including Design Research, HW design and CMF, to come up with consumer-centric, groundbreaking design strategy and solution for Lenovo's IDG (Intelligent Device Group) business.

As Lead Human AI experience Designer in the ONE Lenovo Software Innovation Engine design team, you will design and craft revolutionary Human AI experiences which will improve the efficiency of our daily life and simplify how we interact with AI technology.

You will lead a group of diverse and talented experience designers and develop your design career as a member of a world-class design organization.

This role reports directly to the Executive Director of Design, ONE Lenovo Software Innovation Engine design team.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desk research and be able to go both vertically and horizontally into the given opportunity area. Work with the internal Design User Research team to design based on research-led user pain points and insights.
  • Lead ideation and concept-gen process independently and create disruptive, user-centric Human AI experiences with both internal and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop experience framework that can be scalable and executable across products across different lines of business.
  • Create experience prototype to demonstrate the desired design and experience; test/validate by partnering with the internal User Research team.
  • Independently navigate, communicate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders/cross-functional teams, to drive strategic design alignment, build trust and credibility.
  • Proactively and effectively manage tasks and resources within budget and schedule.
  • Enforce and leverage repeatable design process, design tools and documentation to be efficient and effective.
  • Mentor, support, and inspire younger designers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in the consumer electronics industry or equivalent
  • Proven record in working on systematic and ecosystem-level user experience
  • Expert knowledge of UXUI design process, SW Agile dev process and SW product development experiences
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your work and design skills is required for consideration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in design leadership positions in experience design function
  • Ecosystem Design experience involving HW
  • Passionate about AI, mixed reality and disruptive technology and actively hands on new tech and experience to develop user-centric POV
  • Comfortable working in the face of ambiguity, and able to balance immediate needs with long-term vision
  • Strong organizational skills; strong written, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage workflow and communication with both external and internal stake holders.
  • Strong knowledge of SW Design System
  • Ability to travel for design meetings, attendance at conferences, or internal meetings.
This position will be working onsite in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our in office policy has adopted a hybrid schedule onsite 3 days/week. Candidates that are not already local to Raleigh, NC must be open to relocation.
