Wieland is hiring a Brass Mill Finishing and Slitting Coordinator. The Brass Mill Finishing and Slitting Coordinator will be responsible for providing key support and leadership within the manufacturing plant at East Alton, IL. The coordinator role supports the Lead Slitting Supervisor and Lead Rolling & Cleaning Supervisor, while reporting directly to the Brass Mill Operations Manager and is integral in meeting safety, production, and quality objectives. Provides direct leadership to team of 4-8 hourly personnel engaged in the building of slitter sets to help optimize slitting quality and productivity. This role assists in ensuring that all facets of production operations are performed safely and efficiently by demonstrating the standards of behavior expected of a Wieland leader. This role is located in East Alton, IL and will be fully on-site.

Base Salary Range: $76,000 - $100,000 annually

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Brass Mill Finishing and Slitting Coordinator Responsibilities:

    Drive the Safety-First Culture; lead and engage in safety improvement initiatives to achieve zero OSHA recordable injuries.
  • Execute and engage the team in the Wieland core values.
  • Support the development and execution of standard work procedures and continuous improvement efforts to drive sustainable transformation at the plant.
  • Ensures adequate levels of slitter tooling are available and maintained
  • Optimizes slitting and finishing schedules in the Wieland Factory Suite (WFS) and coordinates activities of adjusters in support of needed machine schedules with collaboration of the planning team
  • Assists Brass Mill in execution of Claim Reports/Strapping-Packing and helps implement procedures and systems to prevent orders in getting delayed
  • Assist in the development of the production team through effective training and coaching.
  • Support the Lead Supervisor and Operations Manager with other initiatives and needs as requested.
  • Manages inventory levels of critical supply items and machine related parts.
  • Assists in coordinating and execution of planned maintenance outages, TPM events, KATA, etc. .
  • Provide vacation coverage for Production Supervisor or Lead Supervisor vacancies.

Brass Mill Finishing and Slitting Coordinator Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree is preferred
  • 7 + years' experience working in a leadership capacity in a manufacturing plant is required.
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a strong team environment.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance, safety management and process management.
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and assessment abilities.
  • Self-motivated, high energy and data driven.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communications skills, and organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the business, internal and external.
  • Ability to bring the appropriate people and information together to make timely decisions.
  • Ability to shape the course of action through influencing others.
