DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this leadership and management role, you will develop, update and maintain the policies and procedures needed to implement effective statewide programs that prevent and eliminate discrimination as defined by the PA Human Relations Act. This position works collaboratively with the Executive Director, Senior Management, the Regional Directors and the Commissioners to implement and grow the Commission's organizational vision as established in the Strategic Plan. You will be expected to ensure programmatic excellence by deploying and continuously improving a statewide Quality Assurance (QA) Program and working closely with State-Wide Lean Management experts. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to supervise and train staff and coordinate programs with Regional Directors in three Regional Offices. In the performance of job duties, this professional provides ongoing, specific consultation and advisement to the Regional Directors on how best to strategically manage the resolution of discrimination complaints given the Commission's priorities and strategic plan.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, in office three days per week, two days telework. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of professional experience in human relations, general human resources, equal opportunity, or civil rights work, which includes four years in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be willing and able to commute to Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience conducting investigations
  • Experience increasing agency/program areas revenues
  • Experience raising funds
  • Experience writing grant proposals
  • Experience evaluating programs
  • Experience managing a Federal program
