Job Mission

We are looking for an Electronics/FPGA Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure highly reliable electronics for ASML's EUV systems by developing automated test infrastructure, performing in-circuit verification of FPGA designs, and supporting hands-on testing in the lab. You will work with advanced technologies such as digital communication, photo-detectors, signal acquisition, and distributed high-precision timestamping, collaborating with cross-functional teams to qualify new FPGA features.

Role and responsibilities
  • Execute experiments on test setups or prototype machines to validate requirements.
  • Develop work breakdown structures and estimates for FPGA electronic product integration.
  • Specify and document test requirements in collaboration with FPGA design teams.
  • Design and maintain qualification tools for verification and integration purposes.
  • Own and maintain firmware test benches.
  • Analyze and resolve reliability issues; support smooth transition of new designs to manufacturing.
  • Coordinate FPGA qualification within overall electronics qualification strategy.
  • Influence electronic design for diagnostics, testability, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Support root cause analysis and problem-solving during prototype integration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 2-3 years of experience as an integrator and/or test engineer for electronic/electrical functions.

  • Broad technical knowledge of electronics with basic understanding of physics, mechanics, mechatronics, firmware, and software.

Preferred:

  • Experience in FPGA design and/or verification, including hardware bring-up and in-circuit test.
Skills
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience for analog and digital designs.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues.
  • Knowledge of cabling, connectivity, and electronic safety.
  • Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other measurement tools.

* Familiarity with version control systems (git).

Preferred:

  • Experience with Linux environments.
  • Exposure to CI/CD integration for test automation.
Other information
  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, California. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$86,250-143,750

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
