Job Objective:

Lead and provide technical expertise for maintenance operations at oil and gas facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and operational excellence while mentoring maintenance personnel and overseeing quality assurance programs.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for company and contractor maintenance work on facility operations

  • Lead quality assurance and compliance programs in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate and oversee functional check-outs (FCO) on maintenance projects with facility technicians

  • Perform and review technical designs, specifications, and work plans for maintenance activities

  • Conduct regular safety audits including hazardous location assessments, LOTO compliance, and safety program evaluations

  • Serve as technical consultant for maintenance questions, code interpretations, and troubleshooting

  • Maintain and update maintenance procedures, standards, and best practices documentation

  • Administer and oversee apprenticeship and training programs for maintenance personnel

  • Facilitate quarterly safety meetings to disseminate knowledge, procedure updates, incident reviews, new technologies, best practices, and field concerns

  • Conduct NFPA 70E electrical safety training sessions for internal staff and contract electricians

  • Uphold compliance requirements and serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and field engineering staff for on-site inspections and audits

  • Perform technical designs and/or review and provide oversight on designs from contractors

  • Provide oversight on specialized maintenance shop day-to-day activities

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide constructability input for projects in collaboration with construction and project management teams

  • Order materials and provide oversight on contractor-procured materials

  • Instruct and facilitate safety training classes for company and contract personnel

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies for compliance verification and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance operations within industrial petrochemical or oil and gas facilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in industrial maintenance systems and equipment

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations (NFPA, OSHA, etc.)

  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to interpret and apply technical codes, standards, and regulations

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Business Management, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred

Required:

  • Current Alaska Electrical Journeyman License

  • Current Alaska Electrical Administrator's License

  • Industry-specific technical certifications as applicable to discipline

Preferred:

  • UL Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR) certification or equivalent

  • OSHA safety certifications (NFPA 70E)

  • Specialized equipment or system certifications
