Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.

OR

Equivalent associate degree with experience.

OR

One year as an Application Administrator - Associate.

Graduate coursework may substitute for up to one year of experience.

Overview

Under general supervision, the Application Administrator - Intermediate supports the stability, performance, and availability of enterprise applications and systems. This role works under the guidance of senior team members to troubleshoot incidents, implement automation, monitor systems, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of reliability practices. This class is flexibly staffed with and differs from an Application Administrator - Associate, in that an incumbent of the latter is learning to install, configure, patch, upgrade, migrate, performance monitoring, tune, backup and restores for databases, enterprise application and physical and virtual servers.

Responsibilities

1. Assist with maintaining reliable and scalable systems to support enterprise applications.
2. Monitor system health and respond to alerts, escalating issues as needed.
3. Support incident response and post-incident review activities.
4. Help automate routine tasks using scripts and configuration management tools.
5. Participate in application release management and environment updates.
6. Learn and apply best practices for system reliability, performance, and security.
7. Contribute to technical documentation including runbooks, checklists, and operational guides.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and improve system operations.
9. Gain experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD tools, and monitoring systems.
