Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Quality Manager to lead the further development, implementation, and maintenance of Kleinschmidt's Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. This role is pivotal in promoting a culture of continuous improvement across engineering, science, and regulatory projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee audits, and drive strategic quality initiatives that enhance efficiency and compliance.

Required Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, business administration, or a related field. Preference given to those with an MBA or a master's degree.
  • 5-7 years of experience in quality management, process improvement, or operations management. Preference given to those with previous experience with AEC engineering consulting firms.
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as PMP or quality management certifications, are highly desirable.


Knowledge & Expertise



  • Quality management systems, including the ISO 9001 framework - you can adapt the standard to drive continual improvement and consistency.
  • Quality tools, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), Lean Sigma, and Kaizen - you know how to apply these tools to a diverse and dispersed workforce (virtual and on-site).
  • Collaborating across the organization to ensure regulatory compliance (environmental, health, safety, legal).
  • Implementing risk assessment tools (FMEA, PESTEL, SWOT), corrective and preventative action (CAPA), and auditing practices, and leading the organization through risk analysis.
  • Knowledge/expertise in AEC industry-specific quality frameworks is a plus.
  • Knowledge/expertise in workflow optimization and automation strategies, including AI integration, is a highly desirable.


Technical Skills



  • Internal/external audit management and compliance assurance.
  • Risk analysis and mitigation, root cause analysis, and KPI development.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera, MS Project) and quality tracking systems.


Leadership & Soft Skills



  • Ability to set long-term quality goals aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Comfortable working at all levels in the organization, from the C-suite to new hires.
  • Skilled in mentoring, conflict resolution, and fostering a culture of improvement.
  • Clear, persuasive communication and adaptability to evolving technologies. Your style is "selling," not "telling."


What You'll Do



  • Lead QMS development and implementation in alignment with ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical staff, and corporate teams to integrate quality into projects.
  • Establish audit schedules, conduct audits, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Identify weaknesses, drive root cause analysis, and manage corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver QMS training and onboarding programs.
  • Monitor KPIs and report on QMS effectiveness to leadership.
  • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Our Process

Kleinschmidt strives to provide a great candidate experience. After careful review of resumes, we will notify those we are interested in interviewing. We may ask for more details with an initial screening. Our process normally involves two interviews. The top candidate will then be asked to provide 2-3 references and offered a benefits call, a unique step in our process where we describe our full benefits package. The final step is an offer sent via email.
