Special Events Program Coordinator

In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with experience in the area of higher education. The ideal candidate will have experience with coordinating and executing various events related to recruitment and enrollment of identified student populations. Exceptional organizational and time management skills and experience in overseeing budgets and expenditures. Ability to exercise judgement while working independently and as part of a team. Preferred candidate will have prior work experience at Hudson Valley Community College. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required as part of this position.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF DUTIES: The Special Events Coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions or his/her designee and performs the following duties:
1. Develop a working knowledge of the College and enrollment process and procedures.
2. Assist with the coordination of events and development of student communications related to direct admission and yield of high school seniors.
3. Assist the Admissions Office with on and off campus admissions events.
4. Develop a working knowledge of Banner, CRM Recruit, read files and enter decisions.
5. Collaborate with external secondary education partners to arrange off-campus admission events.
6. Work closely with Admissions, Testing & Orientation and other internal staff to organize and execute on-campus yield events.
7. Oversee relevant budget and work within the identified financial parameters.
8. Be flexible with schedule changes, have a strong attention to detail and troubleshoot issues and problems as they arise.
9. Communicate as needed with campus staff and outside constituents.
10. Evaluate success of initiative and develop statistical reports.
11. Perform related duties as assigned

This is part-time position with an hourly rate of $25.00.
