Job Description
Position Overview
The Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of fuel products to customer locations. This role requires compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely transport and deliver fuel products to customer sites while following all DOT, company, and customer safety requirements.
- Load and unload product using required equipment (hoses, pumps, valves, fittings) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use onboard technology and electronic systems as instructed (e.g., SmartLogix, Samsara).
- Complete all delivery documentation accurately and timely.
- Follow all incident and spill reporting procedures.
- Maintain communication with dispatch and leadership regarding delays, issues, or safety concerns.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure assigned equipment is clean and in safe operating condition.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Driver Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must meet all DOT requirements for commercial driving, including minimum age (21+) and medical qualifications.
- Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Clean MVR that meets company safety standards.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and drug/alcohol testing (including site-specific requirements that may include hair testing).
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by business needs and within DOT Hours of Service.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs and work in environments that may include extreme temperatures, uneven surfaces, and confined spaces.
- Ability to climb steps and use three points of contact when entering/exiting equipment multiple times per shift.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English as required by DOT safety regulations.
- Demonstrated reliability, strong customer service skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to use company technology and onboard systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current TWIC card (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Experience working in industrial, refinery, or terminal environments.
- Prior experience as a carded driver.
- Mechanical or electrical aptitude.
