Position Summary

At its foundation, contracts management is the discipline of drafting and negotiating contracts and subsequently ensuring the parties fulfill and comply with the requirements of the binding contract. The Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) Contracts Intern will be a valued member of the OTECH Contracts department and assist with contract management responsibilities throughout their internship. Assignments will be commensurate with the student's academic background and professional competencies (soft skills) and will leverage the student's expertise to provide real life, value-added application of their classroom knowledge. Contract management is a dynamic, fast paced, and fun discipline where two days are never alike.

Offices are located in Hanover, MD. This is a hybrid-work position and applicant must be able to work in the Hanover, Maryland office at least three days a week.


Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Partner with various members of the Contracts team to learn about the discipline of contract management, accompany team members to meetings and assist colleagues with their daily contract management duties.
  • Review articles and publications and conduct research related to actual contractual matters and business pursuits and brief Contracts colleagues.
  • Review contract files, reports and processes to identify missing information, redundant information and opportunities to better organize crucial contract files; collaborate with colleagues to collect their updates and feedback; prepare a summary of findings and recommendations.
  • Reach out to colleagues to obtain current status on proposals, contracts and other agreements and assist the Contracts department updating and dispositioning its records and files.
  • Identify, document and analyze objective data and metrics generated by the Contracts department.
  • Generate ideas for updating the Contract department's SharePoint site and coordinate with colleagues to research technology, software and tools for optimizing contract management.
  • Act as brand ambassador for the organization both internally and externally.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Current enrollment in accredited college or university pursing a degree. Applicants should be completing their sophomore or junior year.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, a collaborative spirit, strong-interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly establish rapport with colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; organizational skills; ability to digest, analyze and summarize new information and confidence to ask for help when needed.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during the summer.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

DESIRED:

3.0+ cumulative GPA.
Academic excellence and extracurricular activities.
Pursuing a degree in business, economics, law, public administration, contract management, or any similarly related fields.


Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.

Pay Rate : Base pay rate for this position is $30.00.
