Summary: This position will be responsible for developing and providing maintenance expertise to operations and project engineering. The position will manage the electrical preventative maintenance program for pipelines and terminal facilities located in the US and some international locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with/for Sunoco project managers, Sunoco Terminal Reliability group, Sunoco operations, Sunoco maintenance, contract engineering firms, customers, contractors, vendors, and inspectors. Must communicate and interact effectively with other company/contract disciplines to execute the maintenance program. Supervise contract personnel, engineering firms, integrators, vendors, and/or electrical contractors as needed to perform these functions. Develop Preventive Maintenance Plans for electrical equipment Develop standard procedures and checklists for preventive maintenance activities on electrical equipment that can be loaded into CMMS Develop and maintain a list of qualified vendors to perform electrical maintenance Evaluate, properly apply and provide training for vendor's products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills capable of taking initiative and making decisions. Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Project, Outlook, and Excel. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail with the ability to proof work for accuracy, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet appropriate deadlines are required. Work independently with little supervision. Maintain Asset Inventory data for existing electrical equipment Support Site MOC process, including Reliability approval of new or modified electrical system designs and changes to electrical system care plans. Lead reliability investigations for electrical equipment failures, including proper application of RCA process and corrective action plans. Collaborate with Operation's Leaders to understand and set priority for electrical equipment/system repairs impacting reliability. Build strategy around electrical reliability system training and knowledge support; Creates and delivers training to develop the technical capabilities of the maintenance and operations team Identify programs and initiatives around overhead electrical distribution lines to drive reliability improvements. Technical expertise: Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and components including electrical transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFD and electric motors is essential. Perform facility assessments to monitor/record condition of electrical equipment and verify/update facility electrical documentation (one-lines, area classification, arc flash labeling, etc.) Develop Facility PM plans based on electrical equipment condition and equipment risk assessment Assist with scheduling and interpreting arc flash studies Assist with critical spare parts program (ie VFD) General electrical engineering support Role would support both business units Will be required to travel approximately 30%.
Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job-related experience The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job-related experience Minimum 5 years of electrical/instrumentation/controls (EIC) engineering and project management experience in a terminal/pipeline/petrochemical/offshore engineering environment. Motor Control and variable frequency drives up through 5kV. NEC and API 500. This includes extensive experience in hazardous (classified) locations (Class 1). NFPA 70E and 70B knowledge Piping and Instrument Diagrams, construction drawings, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, PLC panel layout drawings, loop diagrams, ISA data sheets, etc...
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Beneficial Experience (but not required): Electrical power distribution (12.47-34.5kV), power modeling tools (SKM, Etap) Predictive and preventative maintenance care plans, and electrical distribution ITPM programs
