Responsibilities

The Facilities Manager is responsible for leading all hospital facilities, plant operations, and maintenance services to ensure a safe, compliant, and fully operational healthcare environment. This role oversees the maintenance and performance of healthcare building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utility systems, and hospital grounds, in accordance with healthcare regulations, life safety standards, and accreditation requirements.

The Facilities Manager supervises maintenance staff and manages biomedical and facilities service contracts, ensuring all services meet contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and Oklahoma Heart Hospital policies and procedures. This position plays a critical role in environment of care (EOC) compliance, performance improvement initiatives, and operational readiness for healthcare surveys and inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage hospital facilities, plant operations, and maintenance functions supporting patient care

  • Oversee HVAC, mechanical, electrical, medical utility systems, and physical infrastructure

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, life safety codes, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA)

  • Supervise facilities staff and coordinate contracted maintenance and biomedical services

  • Maintain a safe, reliable, and compliant healthcare environment of care

  • Lead performance improvement (PI) and quality initiatives within facilities and plant operations

  • Support emergency preparedness, life safety, and disaster readiness activities

  • Assist with facilities budgeting, capital planning, and cost control

  • Ensure staff competency, training, and ongoing regulatory compliance

Education:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience

  • Prior experience in engineering or maintenance management required

  • Hospital or healthcare facilities maintenance experience preferred
