Description

Sprout Social is looking to hire a Director, Workplace Experience and Events for the Workplace Experience team.

Why join Sprout's Workplace Experience team?

The Workplace Experience (WE) team is at the center of driving Sprout's culture, creating collaborative workspaces, leading in-person and virtual events, and partnering with our Distributed and Employee Experience teams to ensure our employees are set up for success. Our team tackles more than facilities. We care about the entire person, not just the space they work in. Joining the Workplace Experience team means you'll get to frequently collaborate and perfect your craft, including customer service, events, facilities and forging the path for hybrid work at Sprout. You'll be at the epicenter of what makes Sprout, Sprout.

What You'll Do

Sprout is a remote-first company where the office serves a flexible purpose: for some, it is a hub for daily work, while for many others, it is where connection events happen each year. We are seeking a Director of Workplace Experience and Events who operates less like a facilities manager and more like a General Manager. You will lead the team responsible for our global portfolio (Chicago, Dublin, Seattle, Krakow), ensuring that every visit is seamless, supportive, and energized. Your mission is to blend service excellence with operational precision, ensuring our spaces are not just functional, but frictionless.

  • Lead and Inspire a Service-First Culture: Coach and empower your global team to deliver a concierge level of service, ensuring that high-touch, anticipatory support is the standard across all locations.
  • Curate the "Front of House" Experience: Define the standard for how employees are welcomed and hosted. You will ensure that every visit, from desk booking to event logistics, feels personal, energized, and seamless.
  • Drive Operational Precision: Own the "Back of House" standards. You will drive accountability across our global vendor ecosystem (cleaning, security, AV), ensuring partners deliver consistent excellence so the physical environment works perfectly.
  • Remove Process Friction: Audit and simplify our internal tools and workflows. Your goal is to make the Workplace Experience team the easiest part of an employee's day.
  • Optimize Strategy & Spend: Manage the global real estate portfolio and budget with a P&L mindset. You will align our footprint and amenities with actual usage data to maximize the impact of every dollar.

What You'll Bring

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 10+ years in Workplace Experience, Hospitality Management, or Event Operations.
  • 4+ years of people management, including managing global or distributed teams.
  • Experience shaping hybrid/in-person strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Strong project, vendor, and budget management skills.
  • Executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Ability to work from Sprout's Chicago office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) with the possibility of additional in-office days depending on business needs

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Proven ability to measure and communicate the impact of workplace initiatives on business performance.
  • Experience with real estate planning, workplace design, and security systems.

How you'll grow

Within 1 month, you'll plant your roots, including:

  • Complete Sprout Social's new hire training & onboarding program alongside other new Sprout team members. You'll gain a broader understanding of our products and how your role fits into the organization.
  • Build relationships with WE, People Strategy & Innovation, Finance, Legal, and Internal Comms partners.
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of our current office operations, vendor performance, and service workflows to understand the employee experience journey.
  • Review existing data on space utilization, satisfaction, and in-person ROI to establish a baseline for future strategy.

Within 3 months, you'll start hitting your stride by:

  • Establish a consistent service operating rhythm across global offices, ensuring local teams and vendors are aligned on safety, quality, and hospitality standards.
  • Identify and implement early opportunities to simplify processes and remove friction, making it easier for employees to access workplace support and services.
  • Present suggested enhancements to our in-person connection strategy, helping define when and how teams gather to maximize value.
  • Identify early opportunities to optimize footprint and cost (e.g., sublease, co-working pilots).

Within 6 months, you'll be making a clear impact through:

  • Launch or refine workplace tools and protocols that prioritize ease of service and human connection over administrative processes.
  • Partner with Internal Comms to roll out a clear, inspiring narrative to employees about the purpose of our offices as destinations for connection.
  • Deliver immediate operational wins, such as improved vendor quality scores or cost savings through efficient resource management.

Within 12 months, you'll make this role your own by:

  • Fully own and operate a global, data-driven workplace and in-person strategy that leaders trust to drive culture and performance.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in office satisfaction (90%+), space utilization, and cost optimization.
  • Demonstrate the ROI of in-person programs through data-driven reporting that validates the impact of our connection strategy.
  • Shape long-term real estate strategy that aligns with business growth and flexible-first principles.

Of course, what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs, and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.

Individual base pay is based on various factors, including whether you're located in Zone 1 or Zone 2, as well as relevant experience and skills. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, the expected base pay ranges for new hires are:

  • Zone 2 (All other US states): $136K - $187K USD annually

The listed ranges represent earning potential in this position. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout's equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout's company's 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers "Flexible Paid Time Off" and ten paid holidays. We have outlined the various components to an employee's full compensation package here to help you to understand our total rewards package.
