Job Summary-HDPE Fabrication Manager

Oversees HDPE pipe and fittings fabrication operations, ensuring production quality, schedule adherence, and safe fusion practices. Leads daily workflow planning, resource allocation, and coordination with sales and operations to meet customer expectations. Ensures compliance with industry standards for HDPE fusion, conducts quality checks, and drives continuous improvement. Builds team capability through training, safety coaching, and oversight of equipment operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

* Directs HDPE pipe and fittings fabrication operations to meet production, quality, and budget targets.

* Oversees butt fusion, electrofusion, and related HDPE fabrication processes, ensuring adherence to fusion standards and procedures.

* Schedules, coordinates, and prioritizes fabrication orders based on equipment capability, material availability, and customer requirements.

* Monitors quality control processes, including fusion logging, visual inspections, and verification of weld integrity.

* Instructs and monitors staff on safe equipment operation and ensures compliance with OSHA and shop safety requirements.

* Identifies equipment needs, requests repairs, and ensures fusion machines, facing tools, and heaters remain calibrated and operational.

* Coordinates workflow and communication with sales teams regarding order status, timelines, and fabrication capabilities.

* Ensures accurate, compliant, and safe loading and unloading of HDPE products and materials.

* Manages scrap generation, monitors material usage, and develops process improvements to reduce waste.

* Oversees inventory controls for HDPE pipe, fittings, and related consumables.

Qualifications

* Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older.

* Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable.

* Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.

* Generally 7+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or related field.

* Experience with HDPE pipe fusion processes (butt fusion, electrofusion) strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

*Operations management experience.
