Your Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 6-10 years of procurement experience with exposure in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- 6-10 years of experience in direct materials strategies.
- Minimum 3 years experience in global sourcing, particularly Asian countries such as China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
- Candidate must be fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Strong analytical skills, negotiation expertise, and a deep understanding of global sourcing dynamics
- Previous experience in project management, strategic planning, performance management, legal contract negotiations, and leadingcross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in global sourcing initiatives, leading cross-functional teams, and SAP knowledge is required.
- Working knowledge in the contemporary procurement process is required.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interactwith all levels of management.
- Strong analytical and computer skills (MS Office Suite) are a must. SAP is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time.
Your Purpose: You will report to the Commodity Manager. The primary function of this position is to effectively coordinate and manage the strategic procurement process by developing effective supply programs that decrease the total cost of ownership. These activities include but are not limited to the development and execution of procurement strategies, bid process and negotiations, team-based supplier selection and development, and contract management.You will be responsible for incorporating sustainability principles in its sourcing parameters and in the management of suppliers as a way to promote sustainable development. As part of this effort, when acquiring products and services, you will work to ensure the adherence of its suppliers and contractors to Gerdau's Sustainability Policy and Code of Ethics for Third Parties. Gerdau seeks to disseminate the culture of sustainability throughout its value chain through partnership, communication, awareness and engagement initiatives. Your Work:
- Strategy Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of the BCC process strategy and collaborate with the leadership to align it with the business objectives.
Sourcing Opportunities: Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify equipment and components that suitable for best cost country sourcing.
Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Identify potential suppliers in Best Cost Countries through market analysis and research, supplier assessments, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance criteria.
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Best Cost Countries to achieve cost savings targets while maintaining quality standards and mitigating supply chain risks.
Supplier Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts. Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to ensure contract terms are compliant and mitigate potential risks.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in Best Cost Countries to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and value creation. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Supply Chain Optimization: Work cross-functionally with internal teams such as Maintenance, Operations, and Suppliers to optimize supply chain processes, reduce lead times, and improve overall efficiency.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with Best Cost Country sourcing, including geopolitical, economic, and regulatory factors. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to sourcing, procurement, and ethical business practices. Uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all sourcing activities.
Cost Analysis and Reporting: Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost avoidance. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate sourcing performance, savings achievements, and key metrics to senior management.
