POSITION TITLE

Account Manager, Coating Additives

POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken's Coating Additives business is a growth platform within our Chemicals Division. We are a global market leader in the manufacture and supply of high-performance additives for the CASE market. Our Technical Sales & Account Managers are responsible for driving the growth of our additives technology solutions throughout the CASE industry and value chain. The key responsibilities supporting this critical business development function include but are not limited to the following:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screen and qualify incoming customer inquiries regarding Milliken technologies

  • Handle inquiries and foster contact with target customers and market segments

  • Introduce new technologies, define and qualify growth-based projects moving them to commercial status

  • Identify marketing trends/shifts that may open opportunities for product design and growth

  • Aggressively prospect in new market segments to help determine our value proposition and drive growth

  • Must be able to prioritize activities and manage territory for maximum growth

  • Build strong networks and affiliations within key market segments

  • Drive the adoption of key technologies and growth platforms through a consultative sales process

  • Learn and communicate the features/benefits of new technologies to drive commercial success - value differentiation

  • Provide market-based feedback regarding new product opportunities to the development team

  • Manage existing and prospective business, may lead sales efforts in a market segment

  • Growth and profit goals are set, measured, and rewarded annually

  • Maintain thorough tracking of projects through Salesforce

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field

  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or technical experience

  • Proficient in constructing and delivering presentations to all functional levels within an organization

  • Ability to travel up to 30%+ domestically

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • Technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience and sales experience

  • Technical background and/or coatings industry experience

  • Experience with Miller Heiman Strategic Selling process

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
