POSITION TITLE

Strategic Accounts and Business Development Manager Hospitality

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for identifying and developing large strategic account opportunities to expand the addressable market for Milliken Hospitality at national hotel brands and beyond. This person must be a leader and will work closely with all customer channels, Milliken sales associates, Regional Managers, and other cross-functional teams within Milliken & Company. Primary responsibilities include targeted account selling and the creation and execution of special projects that lead to transformative sales growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop relationships with key customers and pursue approval of printed carpet on brand standards and prototypes.
  • Create short and long-term strategic plan to secure and develop large, multi-locational, global, strategic accounts.
  • Review programs and sales directives frequently and provide input to marketing management team to ensure that short and long-term goals will be attained.
  • Provide expertise, training and support to Account Managers and Regional Sales Managers on strategic accounts relevant to specific markets.
  • Provide market research and keep abreast of market trends and developments to recognize customer needs and develop innovative solutions for success.
  • Work directly with end-users, specifiers, and contractors to ensure customer satisfaction and uncover sales opportunities. Expand and maintain strong customer relationships with prospective and new customers.
  • Assist with the RFI, RFP, and RFQ process for accounts.
  • Manage and interface successfully with procurement personnel and personnel in other Milliken & Company divisions to ensure maximum penetration of accounts in assigned geography.
  • Attend relevant trade shows, conferences, and provide after-sale support.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales terminology, concepts and business operating procedures.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to develop opportunities with assigned target accounts, approximately 30% required travel
  • Proficient computer experience including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and related applications.
  • Experience in business writing concepts and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, problem-solving capability, and resourcefulness.

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues through solution-oriented projects and ability to persuade market and sell new ideas.
