Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biochemistry or closely related field. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and using special methods for data collation and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in yeast molecular genetics.
Brief Description of Duties: Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Bruce Futcher in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The ideal applicant will have the Ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities.
The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Duties:
- Conduct experiments.
- Provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted.
- Perform literature search, staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor and/or PI.
- Collect data, informatics, computer studies, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI.
- Other duties as assigned.
