Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Secretary to join our Cancer Center Colorectal Practice team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk operation. This role involves managing patient scheduling, handling communications, and maintaining organized documentation. A commitment to excellent patient care and effective collaboration with staff and physicians is essential.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other standard office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Working Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
  • Day Shift
  • Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Check patients in and out, verifying and updating personal and insurance information
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely resolution or redirection to appropriate staff
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately
  • Answer and route phone calls to appropriate staff members; take detailed messages as needed
  • Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, and patients to support smooth operations
