JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State New Kensington Information Technology Services seeks student IT service desk consultants with excellent customer service skills to provide tier 2 IT support to students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the Penn State New Kensington IT Service Desk.

Duties include:

  • Answer and respond to tier 2 phone calls and incidents
  • Troubleshoot and resolve classroom technology and audio/visual issues
  • Check on and proactively verify that classroom technology is operational
  • Restock student lab printers with paper and address paper jams
  • Provide configuration assistance for bring your own devices (BYOD) to enable customers to connect their devices to Penn State wireless
  • Print and distribute campus posters and Penn State id+cards
  • Assist with installation and deployment of classroom computers
  • Provide end-user assistance with Penn State's One Button Studio

Applicants should possess excellent customer service skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office. On-job training is provided.

This position is only available to current Penn State New Kensington students who qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) award.
