POSITION TITLE

Strategic Account Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

The SAM will be responsible for creating, developing, maintaining, and growing prioritized key account opportunities within the state of Texas. This person must be a leader and will work closely with all customer channels and segments, Milliken Territory and Regional Managers, and other cross functional teams within Milliken & Company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Discover, develop and assist in managing prioritized key accounts within the assigned geographic region that align with Milliken's value propositions.
  • Work closely with District Sales Manager and Territory Account Managers to establish targeted accounts within each sales territory.
  • In coordination with the District Sales Manager provide coaching and mentoring focused on achieving annuity end user relationships.
  • Develop and communicate industry and customer trends and strategies to Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), Regional Sales Managers, and Divisional Leadership across the organization. Create short and long-term strategic plan to secure and develop strategic account opportunities across all segments.
  • Review programs and sales directives frequently and provide input to marketing and product development teams to ensure that short and long-term goals are attained.
  • Provide market research and keep abreast of market trends and developments to recognize customer needs and develop innovative solutions for success.
  • Assist with the RFI, RFP, and RFQ process for accounts in assigned regional geography.
  • Manage and interface successfully with external procurement personnel and personnel in other Milliken & Company divisions to ensure maximum penetration of accounts in assigned regional geography.
  • Attend relevant trade shows, conferences, and provide after-sale support.

  • Growth and development of key accounts in assigned regional geography
  • Overall Regional sales and EBIT growth
  • Overall North American sales and EBIT growth

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Proven track record of operating within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales terminology, concepts and business operating procedures.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned regional geography to develop opportunities with assigned target accounts, approximately 50% required travel

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage complex workload within a team environment.
  • Capacity to identify, analyze and resolve issues through solution-oriented projects and ability to persuade market and sell new ideas.
  • Proficient computer experience including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and related applications. Experience in business writing concepts and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, problem solving capability, and resourcefulness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with business partners and external personnel from various industries.
  • Ability to coordinate diverse administrative tasks requiring exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
