Responsibilities

Summary

This position provides overall supervision of non-exempt case management staff including Case Managers, Assistant Case Manager, Employment/Education Coordinators, and Substance Abuse Counselors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as determined by the Program/Area Manager:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of systems, in alignment with company policies and procedures and principles of the "What Works" system, to enhance operational efficiency and delivery of services to clients referred for supervision or treatment.
  • Provides ongoing staff training within a specific office regarding the technical and client management dimensions of company's offender management system (GEOtrack), including effective integration of information, technology and treatment.
  • Provides in-service training for staff in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Audits case management services provided to clients to ensure standardized delivery of such services per GEO Quality Assurance policy.
  • Assists Program/Area Manager in maintaining state certifications for staff as required by law. Maintains compliance with all government regulatory agencies that oversee treatment services.
  • Provides case consultation to treatment staff as needed.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled case staffings.
  • Performs staff functions as required during staff shortages and PTO (ICBTs, Group Facilitation, Assessments, Orientation, Front Desk duties etc.).
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in basic principles of case management.
  • Must be aware of Policies and Procedures utilized in the facility, maintaining and understanding contractual obligations including licensing requirements and quality assurance.
  • Plans, directs, and manages the duties of staff as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Provides and/or coordinates delivery of training to staff in areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the record maintenance, receiving and discharge operations of the facility.
  • Supervises all staff in the maintenance of participant files forms and documents.
  • Provides PM with input on employee performance and disciplinary issues as needed.
  • Maintains participant caseload as determined by program needs and staffing level.
  • Performs payroll functions as necessary through the Kronos pay system.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from a granting institution or equivalent in the Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum two (2) years of experience supervising casework staff OR
    • High School diploma, or its equivalent and a minimum six (6) cumulative years of full-time experience as a case manager, therapist, counselor or similar position in a program serving the criminal justice population.
  • Knowledge/familiarity of current case management techniques
  • Familiar with the correctional system and current correctional policies
  • Ability to conduct individual counseling sessions, facilitate small groups, and interface with outside agencies to address participant needs
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports in English using correct grammar;
  • Must be able to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not mandatory
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
