Project Accounting Manager, Global Mega Projects

Who we are looking for:

Our Construction & Prefabrication Services (C&PS) strategic business unit is seeking a Project Accounting Manager who will be responsible for supporting project accounting, month end close and financial reporting and analysis for our Global Mega Projects supporting our Phoenix based customer. Our ideal candidate has strong analytical skills. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills.

What you'll do:



  • Develop process and procedures.
  • Establish standard work for GMP Accounting.
  • Report and record construction forecasts and revenue recognition model.
  • Develop reports and KPIs to track and monitor project activity.
  • Audit project cost projections and report on variances.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Review purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts.


What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 8-10 years of experience, construction preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Understand accounting theory and application.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think through process, problems and analysis


What you'll accomplish:

Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Develop relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Have learned the fundamentals of our company's internal software and processes.


Within 6-months, you'll:



  • Take full ownership of project reporting, forecasting, analysis and audits
  • Take full ownership over recurring journal entries and reconciliations
  • Assist Controller with creation of ad-hoc financial reports
  • Assist Controller with analysis and reporting of balance sheet fluctuations


Within 12-months, you'll:



  • Provide suggestions for improvement to current processes that pertain to your responsibilities.
  • Be subject matter expert in your processes.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $101,200 - $139,150. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
