Job Purpose:

The Senior Director-Mattresses responsible for owning and driving the success of FXI's largest product category. This leader will manage a Product Analyst professional and oversee the mattress portfolio throughout its lifecycle to meet business unit strategic and performance goals. This role requires a strong, strategic leader who will define the product strategy and roadmap, ensure product excellence, and achieve ambitious business objectives. As the leader of this critical category, the Senior Director will partner across the organization to deliver winning products and strategies in the market, ensuring alignment between FXI's corporate vision and its category execution.

The Senior Director will be instrumental in defining go-to-market strategies, rationalizing existing product lines, driving innovation, and optimizing product line speed-to-market. This individual will also act as the primary liaison for commercial sales, offering market intelligence, pricing expertise, product training, and support for customer presentations and selling materials.

This position is remote with 30% travel to our Aston facility & other plants.



Responsibilities

    Category Leadership:
    • Own and drive the strategy for the mattress category, which includes multiple brands across diverse channels.
    • Manage and develop a Product Analyst professional, fostering talent growth and performance excellence.
  • Strategic Product Development:
    • Partner with business lines and sales teams to develop multi-year product strategies aligned with customer needs and long-term revenue growth.
    • Define and execute a comprehensive product roadmap, ensuring alignment with sourcing, procurement, and logistics operations for on-time product launches.
    • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success of product initiatives.
  • Customer-Centric Focus:
    • Develop customer segmentation strategies to categorize consumers based on demographics, behaviors, and preferences, tailoring product and marketing efforts accordingly.
    • Collaborate with account managers and channel managers to gather and incorporate customer feedback into product iterations.
  • Lifecycle Management:
    • Oversee the entire lifecycle of a large product portfolio, from concept to design, sample production, testing, forecasting, costing, mass production, promotion, support, and end-of-life management.
  • Business Case Leadership:
    • Develop, present, and review detailed business cases for product initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for project initiation and termination.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Foster collaboration across departments such as marketing, sales, manufacturing, and R&D to achieve category goals.
    • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring effective communication and execution of product strategies.


Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in household durables, consumer packaged goods, and/or B2C industries with a focus on product development, sales, marketing, and P&L management.
    • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of managing the full product lifecycle.
    • Demonstrated success in leading large, complex product categories with significant revenue impact.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making and performance monitoring.
    • In-depth knowledge of the mattress category and related industries.
    • Proficiency in developing and executing product strategies, positioning, and value propositions.
    • Excellent leadership and team development skills, with the ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams.
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence and align cross-functional teams.
