The Supply Chain Distribution Tech II is an integral member of the Materials Management team providing equipment, supplies and information to assigned supply carts. The Lead Distribution Technician (TECH 2) interacts with Nursing, Vendors, Partners support teams, peers and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. The Supply Chain Distribution Tech II maintains the accuracy of the PeopleSoft cart and possesses strong analytical and computer skills.
* Ensures that assigned PeopleSoft carts are accurate at all times.
* Keeps assigned carts organized, clean, labeled and at proper par levels.
* Maintains cart & store room locator books for all assigned carts.
* Takes inventory for all assigned carts using a hand held computer and PeopleSoft. Verifies deliveries and supports Tech 1 delivery and put-a-way.
* Receives incoming materials, supplies & equipment; compares information on the packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment. Assigns FedEx and UPS packages to Tech I for delivery to the OR.
* Maintains all secondary inventories that support assigned carts.
* Identifies all non-stocks and supports efforts to convert them to stockless.
* Coordinates supply activity with Nursing Leadership and Nurses.
Communicates with clinical staff and keeps them current on all relevant issues.
* Coordinates with Operations Supervisor to insure prompt and efficient delivery of stock to users. Works with Operations Supervisor to maintain weekly work schedules for assigned Tech I.
* Coordinates with other Tech II's to seek out and gain supply chain process improvements.
* Verifies physical receipt of items with vendor's packing list, inputs information into computer systems, generates paperwork for appropriate distribution.
* Unpacks and places stock in proper locations.
* Supports case picking and other functions as primary or secondary source.
* Receives requests for supplies.
* Delivers items to requesting departments, obtains authorized signatures for accepted items. Updates Receiving in the Materials Mgt. Computer.
* Enters returns when necessary.
* Organizes and maintains records pertinent to stock levels, supply quantities, issues and other data, recommends modifications to quotas or inventories.
* Alerts Operations Supervisor to stock outs, and items that have become
inactive and/or outdated.
* Rotates stock in the Main Inventory and the unit inventories, removes any and all outdated items from the shelves and records on Outdated Log.
* Conducts cycle counts and physical inventory.
* Returns supplies and equipment to vendors, as necessary via UPS or other commercial conveyance by preparing Bills of Lading or other documents required. Organizes and maintains files, logs and records relative to Storeroom and Receiving activities.
* Maintains established hospital and department policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assurance, Safety, Environmental & Infection Control.
* Incumbent is considered Essential during Disaster or Other Emergency situations.
* Responsible for all other related duties.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years progressively responsible administrative, supervisor and technical experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership and technical abilities.

  • Experience working with computer systems.

  • Analytical ability and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and resolve problems with department managers and company representatives.
