The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hospital's buildings, grounds, personnel, and patients. This dynamic role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a safe environment. The Security Officer will monitor security systems, assist in investigations, enforce safety protocols, and provide support in medical and emergency situations.
Experience Minimum Required -- 1 year Security/Customer Service-related experience or equivalent post-secondary education. Must be 18 years of age. Experience Preferred/Desired -- Healthcare/Law enforcement, Military experience. Education Minimum Required -- High school diploma Education Preferred/Desired Associates/Bachelor's Degree Training Minimum Required Completion of AVADE Handcuffing certification within 4 weeks of hire. Completion of AVADE Pepper gel training within 4 weeks of hire - Completion of AVADE WPV program within 4 weeks of hire. - Completion of Narcan training within 4 weeks of hire. Training Preferred/Desired -- De-escalation techniques training and/or self-defense course Special Skills Minimum Required -- Good interpersonal/written skills and effective de-escalation skills.
