Working very independently and under very general supervision from a manager or Principal Investigator, provides support to clinical research studies. May be responsible for the following activities: assessing the suitability of potential participants for clinical trials, scheduling, data input, oversight of regulatory submissions, and collaboration within departments as well as with outside institutions. PRINCIPALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinatestheimplementation,bothinternallyandexternally,ofsponsoredclinicalresearchstudies. Initiates and maintains contact with study participants.Responsible for screening applicants, ensuringtheymeetappropriatecriteria,andassessingthesuitabilityof their participation. Maintainsthestudydatabase.Responsiblefordatainput and upkeep. Review of billing and financial status of various research protocols. InconjunctionwithResearchManager/PrincipalInvestigator,developsandimplementsnew research protocols including data collection systems and institutional review boardapproval. All other duties asassigned. QUALIFICATIONS: BSORBA SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIESREQUIRED: Abilitytoworkindependently. Excellentinterpersonalskillsarerequiredforworkingwiththestudyparticipants. Goodoral andwritten communicationskills. Analyticalskillsandtheabilitytoresolvetechnicalorresearchproblemsandissuesandtointerpret the acceptability of data results. Knowledge of clinical researchprotocols. Highdegree ofcomputerliteracy. Excellentorganizational skillsand abilityto prioritizea varietyoftasks. Carefulattentiontodetail. Abilitytodemonstrateprofessionalismandrespectforsubjectsrightsandindividualneeds. Knowledgeofdatamanagementprograms. SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES: Potential to assist in trainingandorientingnewstaff. WORKINGCONDITIONS: Lifting/ carrying of equipment. Walking/ standing for long periods of time. Bending to examine patients' extremities.
