Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Site-Level Programs: Execute infection prevention and control policies, goals, and standards in alignment with MGBMG objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Surveillance and Reporting: Oversee site-specific NHSN and non-NHSN infection surveillance, including detection, remediation, and reporting of outbreaks.
- Environment of Care: Conduct regular rounds to evaluate and report infection prevention practices, collaborating with local and system leadership for continuous improvement.
- Educational Leadership: Lead and support infection control educational efforts for site staff, enhancing awareness and adherence to best practices.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as a liaison to regulatory bodies and public health agencies, ensuring compliance and adherence to infection control regulations.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Compliance, Facilities, and other stakeholders to mitigate and manage infection risks.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Infection Control, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Statistics preferred; Masters in Healthcare Management or another relevant field is acceptable.

  • At least 3 years of related work experience.

  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred. If not certified, the candidate must be prepared to sit for CIC within 2 years.

  • Massachusetts RN licensure preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and other healthcare-associated infection surveillance methods.

  • Understanding of regulatory standards and experience in applying performance metrics like Vizient, Leapfrog, and CMS.
