Provides direct and indirect age-specific patient care duties and assessment under the guidance and delegation of a registered nurse while adhering to organizational standards, policies, and protocols. a) Responds to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the registered nurse i) Intravenous catheter insertion c) Administers medications and intravenous fluids and monitors outcomes as delegated by registered nurse following provider order and hospital policy after competency validation. i) The paramedic can serve as the second sign off for Medications and blood products an RN will be the primary validator Document care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes in electronic medical record. Completes the intake assessment specific to the department they are assigned to and documents it in the EHR. a) Initiates treatment and testing based on department protocols.
