3rd Class Engineer: - Respond to emergency situations - Perform preventative maintenance as required on a variety of equipment - Maintain and record logs and checklists on an hourly and daily basis - Keep area clean at all times - Work shifts to maintain a manned shift under: MA General Laws Chapter 146 Essential Functions: - Fires boilers, operates all auxiliary equipment such as compressors, pumps, and provides a continuous supply of steam to the hospital. - Reads and interprets meter and gauges, records findings, adjusts equipment, controls and valves to maintain desire pressure and temperatures. - Repairs / replaces defective piping, controls, pumps, and other parts of the boiler plant as needed. - Keeps and maintains shift logs as required. - Cleans, paints, and maintains work area as required. - Works in a neat, professional manner recognizing the safety and health of themselves and others. - Is aware of all policies and procedures as outlined in the standard operating procedures. - Performs all other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Education: HS graduate or GED Experience: 5 years in trade with at least 2 years as a 3rd class engineer Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: MA 3rd Class Stationary Engineers License required Knowledge & Skills: Ability to work independently and manage emergency situations.
