The position is for a research technician I in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Yuyu Song. The Song lab focuses on molecular mechanisms and potential therapies for neurodegenerative diseases such as AD/ADRDs, ALS, and HD. The incumbent will operate in both standard biological wet lab techniques as well as more elaborate tasks in the laboratory, with the supervision of a mentor. The research is targeted toward understanding and treating neurodegenerative diseases and the ideal individual will be responsible, curious, thoughtful, meticulous, enthusiastic, and motivated towards becoming an active team member. Required techniques include neuronal culture (e.g., primary neurons, iPSC neurons), basic biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and image analysis.
