Description Management/Leadership Req #: 14842 Summary Summary: Primary responsibility is the evaluation of exercise stress testing data, calculation of a safe and effective exercise prescription in the cardiovascular secondary prevention population, and development of quality group exercise programming that maximizes training self progression and self-monitoring while individualizing the processes to a broad spectrum of exercise abilities. Within the heart health program responsibilities include teaching current evidence based risk reduction strategies. Responsibilities extend outside the heart health program to community based programs and being a liaison with the fitness and wellness communities. The Senior Clinical Exercise Physiologist serves as a team leader, and supervises the interdisciplinary cardiac rehabilitation team. As team leader, he/she coordinates and supervises the activities of the clinical staff in the department, completes regular performance evaluations; acts as a primary liaison to other disciplines; provides leadership and continuity within their specific areas of clinical expertise; and assists the Program Manager, Medical Director, and Cardiovascular Service Line with administrative tasks such as payroll, budgeting, and reports. Demonstrates initiative, ownership, respect, innovation, flexibility and independence to assure appropriate service delivery in a changing healthcare environment. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology required.
- License/Certifications: Certified as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 - 5 years of clinical experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of physical, medical, and behavioral sciences applicable to cardiac rehabilitation at an advanced level.
- A high level of proficiency in the delivery of clinical services across multiple populations and a comprehensive understanding of all divisional policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills to provide effective supervision and to interact effectively with a wide variety of staff, patients, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt to continuous changes in schedules, requests, and patient needs.
